Care, cleaning and salt water

The sensor is fully waterproof and sealed against salt water, sand and crash impacts. It is built to be thrown around. Even so, one habit meaningfully extends its life.

Rinse it after every salt-water session

Fresh water, no soap, about thirty seconds. Salt crystals forming in the dock recess and around the button are what cause charging and button problems months later, rather than water getting inside.

Then dry it

Shake off the excess and let it air dry, or pat it with a towel. Do not put it on the charging dock while it is still wet.

What to avoid

• No solvents, alcohol or dishwasher. Fresh water is all it needs.
• No heat drying. That means no hairdryer, no radiator, no dashboard in the sun.
• Do not open the housing. It is sealed for a reason and cannot be resealed by hand.
• Do not use it as a dive computer. It is built for the surface and for impacts, not for sustained depth.

Storage

Somewhere dry and out of direct sun, at roughly half charge if it is going away for the season.
