What the light colours mean
The SANDIT Sensor has one light and no screen, so the light carries every status message. Here is the full vocabulary.
Steady colours
| Light | What it means |
|---|---|
| Off | Standby. The sensor is on but not recording and not connected. |
| Solid red | Recording a session. |
| Blue | Bluetooth. Either waiting for your phone or connected to it. |
| Purple | Installing a firmware update. Leave it alone until it finishes. |
| White | Transferring over Wi-Fi. Only used for large transfers. |
On the charger
Pulsing purple means it is charging. Solid green means it is full.
Green only appears once the battery is convincingly full, and it stays green until the charge drops meaningfully. That deliberate lag is why you will not see it flicker between purple and green near the top of the charge.
Patterns when you switch it on
- Breathing red. Normal wake-up. The sensor is starting.
- Breathing purple. Starting up while sitting on the charger.
- Breathing blue. Starting up straight into Bluetooth mode.
- Three fading red pulses, then dark. The battery is too low to start. Charge it.
- Pulsing amber. You are holding the button and the sensor is waiting to see if you keep holding.
Three descending red pulses are deliberately different from a hard cut to darkness. Fading pulses mean the battery is flat. An abrupt blackout means something went wrong, so mail crew@sandit.club if that happens repeatedly.
