How long it lasts

A full charge gives you 8+ hours of recording, which is several sessions for most riders. A weekly charge is a realistic rhythm rather than a nightly chore.

How it charges

Wirelessly, through the dock. The sensor has no charging port and no exposed contacts, because any opening in the housing is a place for salt water to get in. Plug the dock into USB power and rest the sensor in it.

Charging from empty takes around two hours. The light pulses purple while charging and turns solid green when full.

Looking after the battery

• Rinse and dry the sensor before docking it. Salt residue between sensor and dock is the main cause of slow or failed charging.
• Do not store it flat for months. If the sensor is going into a drawer for the off-season, charge it to roughly half first, then top it up every few months.
• Avoid charging it in direct sun or in a hot car. Heat during charging is what actually ages a lithium battery, far more than cycle count.
