Charge it and switch it on

First charge

Plug the dock into any USB power source and place the sensor in it. Alignment matters less than contact. The sensor should sit flat in the dock recess.

While charging, the light pulses purple. When the battery is genuinely full it turns solid green. Give it around two hours from empty.

Switching it on

Press the button once. The light breathes softly while the sensor starts up, then settles into whichever state it is in: off for standby, blue when it is looking for your phone.

Switching it off

Hold the button for two seconds. The light fades out and the sensor shuts down properly rather than just sleeping.

If you press the button and get three fading red pulses, the battery is too low to start. That is the sensor asking to be charged, not a fault. Put it on the dock for twenty minutes and try again.

For every light pattern the sensor can show, see what the light colours mean.
