Battery safety

The SANDIT Sensor contains a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery. It is not user-replaceable and the housing is sealed, so there is nothing inside for you to service.

Stop using it if

• The housing is swollen, deformed or cracked.
• It gets unusually hot while charging.
• It has been crushed or badly impacted, even if it still switches on.

In any of those cases, take it off the charger, put it somewhere non-flammable away from anything that matters, and mail crew@sandit.club. Do not keep charging it to see what happens.

Sensible handling

• Do not puncture, crush, disassemble or incinerate it.
• Charge it between roughly 5 °C and 35 °C, so not in a hot car and not in freezing conditions.
• Use the dock it came with.
• Do not leave it charging unattended on or near anything flammable.

Flying with it

The battery is small and well within the limits airlines set for devices in cabin baggage. Carry it in your hand luggage rather than in the hold, which is the rule for lithium batteries generally. Do not pack a visibly damaged sensor at all.
