Public and private sessions
Each session is either public or private. Public sessions can be seen by other signed-in SANDIT riders and appear in the community feed. Private sessions are visible only to you.
Changing it
Open the session in the app and switch its visibility. You can make a session private again at any time after publishing it.
Sessions that cannot be made public
Two kinds stay private whatever you do.
- Sessions without a usable GPS fix. If the sensor never got satellites, the session has no meaningful route or speed to show, so it is kept private rather than published as an empty track.
- Non-watersport activities. Only surfing, kitesurfing, windsurfing, wingfoiling and dune soaring can be published to the community. Anything else, walking included, is private-only by design.
What a public session reveals
Your route on a map, your metrics, the spot name and your profile name. Think about the route in particular. If you always launch from the same place, a public session shows that place.
Keep sessions at a home spot private if you would rather not publish where you regularly are. Nothing about the tracking changes, only who can see it.
