Wrist or chest

Your wrist moves with the bar.

Steering and pumping move the watch, too. WOO calls its watch figure an estimated jump height. SANDIT sits at your chest.

Which one is for you?

Many riders wear both: a watch for live numbers, SANDIT for the session data.

Keep your watch if

You want live numbers.

  • You own an Apple Watch Ultra or 10 ATM Garmin
  • You want speed or height on your wrist
  • One device for sport, health and messages
  • You live outside the EU, UK or Switzerland

Pick SANDIT if

You want data from your chest.

  • You would only buy a watch for the water
  • Measured from the same spot, every session
  • Metrics for kite, wing, windsurf and surf

Keep the watch for the rest of life.

€6,99 a month for founders, sensor included. Nothing to pay until it ships.

Questions

Can I use an Apple Watch for kitesurfing?

Many riders do, with apps such as WOO, Surfr or Hoolan. Check the model first: Apple says only Apple Watch Ultra should be used for water skiing or other high-velocity water. Other models are meant for shallow water, like swimming.

Is a Garmin watch good for kitesurfing and wingfoiling?

It can be. Watches such as the fēnix 8 have Kiteboard, Windsurf and Surf profiles, long GPS battery life and Connect IQ apps for jumps. Pick 10 ATM or higher: Garmin only lists high-speed water sports from there.

Can a smartwatch measure jump height?

Yes, through apps, but your wrist also moves with your arm while you steer. WOO calls the figure from its watch app an estimated jump height. SANDIT is worn on your chest, under the wetsuit.

How long does a smartwatch battery last with GPS on?

Apple quotes up to 10 hours of workout tracking for Series 12 and up to 18 hours for Ultra 4. Garmin lists up to 47 hours in GPS-only mode for the 47 mm fēnix 8 AMOLED. SANDIT runs 8+ hours.
